It's 2021, you're well-networked, successful, in great shape, but you still haven't met the one. Perhaps it's worth understanding why having a Matchmaker is the solution.

As a man, does the very idea of having someone help you find a life partner make you flinch? There is a possibility that you may be thinking that you should be able to do this yourself, after all you’re in great shape, successful, well-travelled and socially networked. But if at this point, you’re looking at 2021 and it’s still not happening, perhaps it’s worth understanding why having a Matchmaker is the solution. It’s highly confidential, so only you will know about it.

‘Why do I need a matchmaker?’ I hear you cry, ‘I meet people online and through work the whole time!’ But the question to ask yourself is, are you meeting the right type of the person?  The reason many clients come to us, is because they are struggling to meet the right calibre of matches, they are tired of meeting people who seem initially like a good enough match, but in reality, once you get to know them, they leave you feeling a little underwhelmed, wishing you could meet someone who was an intellectual or financial equal. Our clients are looking to meet someone who can become a long-term partner with shared core values and not someone who will ghost them after a couple of dates with no explanation, or someone who seems great on first conversations but underneath you discover huge areas of incompatibility as they begin to get to know each other.

There is also the consideration of time to factor in, how much admin time do you think you need to put into apps such as Tinder or Bumble to garner one date? Recent research showed that it takes approximately 6 hours of admin to produce one date.

For busy, successful professionals that’s an awful lot of time you don’t have! Matchmaking now starts to seem like the logical and most efficient way to manage your time. With matchmaking, all the vetting and profiling is done for you by your personal matchmaker, taking out all the work for you so by the time you see profiles of potential matches we will have completed all the compatibility profiling on them, matched them to your preferences, hobbies and core values etc.

The financial impact of dating can be considerable – money spent on endless dinners and drinks that seem fun at the time but lead nowhere and soon mount up but we often forget the emotional expenditure of investing in each date too: getting one’s hopes up only to realise that the match wasn’t quite as great as they first seemed. Matchmaking is another tool in the toolkit that can bring great rewards, just as it would having an executive coach or a personal trainer.

Being profiled by a matchmaker at the beginning of the process is a particularly enlightening and interesting experience, allowing you to learn more about yourself, the values that are important to you and that you would like to find in a partner that you might never have considered before. After the profiling, when you hit the dating stage, you will have a designated sidekick (matchmaker) by your side coaching you through each step, helping to not fall into any potential pitfalls and traps and to teach you how to work through potential dating hiccups along the way. Dating without your sidekick can be a potentially disappointing experience but with your new ‘dating PT’ onboard, think of all the fun you could have!
