My client Sophie had been an Open Member with us for years before committing to our Private Membership. She had a friendship with our founder, and when she joined our proactive service, I was entrusted to hopefully deliver Sophie’s ideal match.
She had been in relationships through us before, but this time she was ready to be in the driver’s seat. Sophie was in her late 30s, had lived internationally, came from an established family background, is a successful entrepreneur, and is a true gem inside and out. She wanted to find her life partner, get married, and start a family.
Historically, she had typically dated gentlemen a little older than her who were established in their careers, ideally from a similar family background, and who had international elements in their lives. I focused her search accordingly. However, despite meeting several men who “ticked the boxes”, none sparked a romantic connection with longevity.
Her membership continued, and as we neared the end, she agreed to one final introduction. This time, it was with someone who did not tick her usual boxes. His profile came from one of our partner agencies, and it felt like a lightbulb moment for me: “He’s not necessarily the match she would want, but perhaps he’s the one she needs.”
He was younger, had not spent years living abroad, and came from a more modest background, but he shared her core values and had a kind, humorous nature. They clicked immediately.
A year and a half later, they are engaged, living together with his dog, house-hunting, and planning their wedding for next year. She recently invited me to celebrate their engagement at the restaurant where they had their first date, a beautiful full-circle moment proving that trusting the process truly paid off.

Originally from Virginia, USA, Grace lived along the East Coast before settling in California for her undergraduate studies. She then spent five years in London, working as a Matchmaker in our UK office, before returning to the U.S. to take on her current role as Membership Manager.
Grace holds a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Psychology. Her passions lie in understanding attachment styles, communication in relationships, and the deeper dynamics between romantic partners. With a strong academic foundation and first-hand matchmaking experience, Grace brings empathy, insight, and warmth to every client interaction.
