What is your favorite thing about being a matchmaker?

My favorite thing about being a matchmaker is meeting so many incredible & interesting people! I have always been a people-person, and the fact that now I get to introduce them to each other so they can fall in love as a JOB is a literal dream-come-true!

How did you get into matchmaking?

I’ve dreamed of being a matchmaker since 2015 when I watched Patti Stanger on “Millionaire Matchmaker”. At the time, I was running a social media management business & writing a blog about dating. Being a social media manager wasn’t right for me, and I told myself if I could abandon it and do anything, it would be to help singles find love. That blog would turn into a coaching business, that eventually would lead me to becoming a matchmaker!

My coaching business was facilitating new relationships and marriages for 90% of my clients, and eventually the 10% started asking for help with more than coaching; they wanted me to go out and FIND SOMEONE for them. So I attended a conference to learn how, and that’s where I connected with Maclynn.

Tell us about your life outside of work?

Outside of work, I’m inevitably finding cute New England towns to explore with my husband, going on long walks with my dog, or trying new places to eat! I also love traveling and try to do unique experiences with my family. Our last trip was a Christmas Market Tour that started in Paris and took us all the way through Germany, into Prague, down to Vienna, and back to Strasbourg.

Guess that means you’ve met you own true match then!

Yes! I met my husband ironically the same year I launched my blog as a coaching service. Our first date was about 6 months after the start, and it was incredible to mirror my journey with the principles I was teaching my clients. I’m a “practice what I preach” type of person, so I was able to show people in REAL TIME why my advice was applicable and how it worked given the changes to the dating landscape with the rise of dating apps & social media.

My first client got married before I did, but I’ve loved watching more and more singles trust in my process by seeing it work for me.

What makes your matchmaking so successful?

I use a holistic approach that I developed as a dating coach — pulling on key principles from psychology, epigenetics, spirituality/theology, and what’s called “psycho-cybernetics”, I have cultivated my craft to see my clients for who they are and what they want long term to match them with someone not only compatible, but that truly complements them to expand each of their lives, together.

Do you like hearing how your clients’ dates went?

Of course! Hearing about the date is my second favorite conversation with my clients. (My first is when they tell me they’re engaged!!)

Is date coaching like therapy?

Obviously there are marked difference between coaching and therapy, as coaching is an unregulated industry. However, almost every client I’ve taken on as a coach has come to me because they feel that therapy “didn’t work for them” as far as helping them get into a healthy, lasting relationship. I see therapy as a useful tool for resolving past issues or working through a crisis. But in my experience, it doesn’t have that future momentum aspect that most clients want–and I’ve crafted my coaching service to specifically propel my clients into the future/outcomes they want through a holistic, MIND + BODY + SPIRIT approach that has proven to be incredibly effective! However, I don’t take on coaching clients if they’ve never done any professional development/accountability work before (like therapy, formal counseling, etc.)

Why should I hire a matchmaker rather than just using apps?

Matchmaking is the move for high-performing, high-agency singles. There’s a growing demographic of singles who value their time and desire high-effort dating experiences. Dating apps are, in my opinion, the lowest energy — worst ROI out there. Matchmaking not only saves you time, energy, and effort, but with an agency like Maclynn you can also trust that the dates you DO go on will be with vetted and professionally approved potential partners. It’s the best service to invest in these days for successful individuals who understand that the person they marry is the most important decision they’ll ever make.

How can I build my dating confidence?

Dating with confidence comes down to 3 things:
1.) Aesthetic — what story are you telling the world before you ever open your mouth?
2.) Self-trust & competence  do you know how to tap into your own intuition and take accountability for your own actions?
3.) Faith in a higher power. I know this is a bit unconventional, but my most successful clients cultivate their self worth with a belief in something bigger than them (whether that’s God, Source, Universe, whatever) to anchor into beyond the imperfections of humanity!
